The World Was a Mess but His Hair Was Perfect

Passport

Earlier this week I finally came to the highly deliberated decision that the last thing I need in my terrible twenties is to be confonted with a terrifying three inches of regrowth everytime I'm asked to show ID. So, with my current passport coming to its timely end, a new surname to boot and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade awaiting my application, I said bye bye to the boisterous blonde and plunged head first into brunettedom. I haven't been this close to my natural hair colour in five years which should, in theory, leave me feeling wonderfully sweet and sixteen. Unfortunately I wasn't that sensible a teen and instead am finding myself frequently having to resist the curious urge to skull every alcoholic beverage in sight. Oh well, I'd rather face a drunkard for the next ten years than a head of questionable hair colour.

I Can See Clearly Now

The sun is OUT again! Well, yes, there is the whole gail force winds thing but unless you're on a ferry/anywhere unsheltered, who the fuck cares? It's blue outside!

In other news, I had my hair cut and dyed on Tuesday. This is far more thrilling news than it might seem. Actually, no, it's not really.

Our Vintage & Retro Sale is THIS WEEKEND! I know I haven't been able to shut up about it but I'm even more excited than usual. Maybe I'm just in an excitable mood this week. Or maybe it's because our stock this month is unbelievably good. Like, mind blowingly good. Sydneysiders, you simply must come along. If you're lucky, and flatter my website/writing/incredible good looks enough, I might even give you a bloggy discount. AND, we'll be open an hour longer either end on Saturday and an hour earlier on Sunday morning so you'll have even more time than usual to check out our racks (not in a dirty kind of way). Here are some more photos of me wearing some of said unbelievably good stock. I'll also be selling some super cool cassette tape necklaces like the one in the below photos for a miniscule four dollars. Click for more detail.

The glasses are a present from my lovely housemate Dom, the awesome red jacket and top are both from Anglicare (pay-by-the-kilo op shop), leggings from god knows where, the cassette necklace I made myself, the watch from Paddys market (actually my birthday present from Bobby) and the shoes you should all know by now. Man, I need some new boots.

Sunday Girl

I GOT A - much needed - HAIR CUT! Oh, and I went blond slash orange. I'm kind of loving it. Also, my brilliant new housemate Dom gifted me with these wonderful glasses because they're too big for him. And because I'm awesome. But mainly because they're too big for him (I have a MASSIVE head - in both senses of the phrase). Exciting news, yes? We're mid-markets so I'll make this a brief post. Given my penchant for long paragraphs that don't say all that much, it's the best kind of post really, isn't it?

P.S. Yes, that's a tie dye leather skirt.

Cut Your Hair

I thought I'd better quickly post these photos of my new haircut and colour before I go to Germany and get all Germanified because it's an awesome haircut and Mahogany are amazing. Because if I don't post photos now, I'll get back with my hair all fantastically fluffy/dreadlocked from lack of washing and combing/permed and then you'll be like, "I thought you got your hair done by professionals" and I'll be all, "Do you really think a professional would make my hair look like this?" And then you'll blame Mahogany. And I wouldn't want that because they're, like, the best salon in Sydney. I'd say London too but, to be honest, it's the only salon I've ever been to in London so I'm probably a bit biased. But basically, Edward Scissorhands has nothing on them.

A little Mia Farrow and a little floppy-fringed-indie-boy, don't you think?

P.S. Edward Scissorhands is one of my favourite movies ever and Edward, if you're listening, I didn't really mean that thing I said about them being better than you because no one could cut hair like you and marry me please.
